Nandi, the sacred bull, occupies an important place in Indian spiritual traditions, especially in the Shaivite tradition. He is considered the vehicle of Lord Shiva and his chief devotee. The symbolic meaning and significance of Nandi extends to various aspects of Hindu philosophy, ethics and the concept of Dharma.
The Indus Valley Civilization (2600–1900 BCE) is considered to be the most advanced of the early civilizations, especially for its urban planning, governance and public administration.
Compared to contemporary civilizations such as Mesopotamia and Egypt, the cities of the Indus Valley show remarkable evidence of organized administration, well-planned governance and effective civic management.
The administrative structure of this civilization gives us a glimpse of the early bureaucratic system, city planning, and regulatory arrangements, which later became the foundation of the model of governance in India and other regions.
