Samvidhan Sabha

5.5. Sabha and Samiti
Sabha and Samiti: Important organs of India's democratic system Sabha and Samiti are two important pillars of India's democratic system, which ensure participation, accountability and transparency in governance.Sabha is an institution where elected representatives gather to discuss and take decisions on issues of public interest. Examples of this are Gram Sabha, Vidhan Sabha and Parliament. This platform serves to raise public problems, debate policies and pass laws. In contrast, 'Samiti' is a smaller unit formed to consider a particular subject or task in depth. These committees analyze subjects like finance, health, education or lawmaking and make suggestions or take decisions. For example, committees of Parliament review bills and government work. Sabha and Samiti together strengthen the spirit of democracy and promote good governance through discussion, exclusivity and collective responsibility.
